What makes these classes special
It’s more than just steps – it’s a whole (fun & sweaty) experience!
In my classes we go beyond just learning steps. Every week we train different aspects of salsa dancing that will help you grow as a dancer and as a person. From body movement and styling to laughter and connection – here’s what you can expect:
Body Movement
I truly believe that dance starts from within and moves outward, not the other way around. Just like in life: happiness begins inside, and then shines to the outside 😊 That’s why in every class I focus on training how we move our bodies in detail with every step. We explore influences from Afro-Cuban dance, jazz, and even a little ballet and modern dance.
Styling
Once we have a strong foundation, it’s time to spice it up! Styling is the finishing touch – and it’s so much fun! One step can have countless styling options, and in class we explore different vibes and flavors. I explain in detail what I do and how you can really feel the styling, instead of just copy-pasting.
Technique
Something super important to me: technique! Beautiful body movement and styling only work when we do them correctly. Good technique helps you conserve energy, prevents dragging your body around, and makes your dancing look sharp and clean. Plus, your communication on the dance floor will become crystal clear.
Personal expression
Dance is about more than steps — it’s about expressing yourself. It’s a way to let out emotions that have been stuck for too long, and a way to show your personality beyond the 9-to-5 routine. My classes are a safe space where you can explore all sides of yourself, try new things, and be as big, bold, and free as you want to be.
Work out
Yes, you will sweat! 🤩 I don’t go to the gym, because dance is my workout. It keeps me fit and healthy without even noticing I’m working out. My classes are challenging: we move a lot, pick up choreographies quickly, and push ourselves. So bring your water, a towel, and maybe a fresh shirt… and be ready to be challenged!
Gezelligheid and laughter!
Work hard, play hard — that’s how I live! My classes are about working hard and being challenged, but also about gezelligheid and laughter. We grow together, we laugh together, and we celebrate every step of progress. No competition, no bad vibes, only love 😊❤️

Hi, I’m Anne Elise 😍💃
As a little girl, I always danced in the livingroom for hours and hours to my mother’s viola music. But when my mom brought me to my first ballet class, I hated it 😅 As a teenager I finally really started dancing at my high school different styles, like streetdance, hiphop, modern, but also less standard styles like tap dancing, belly dancing, and then… salsa 💃
I fell in love with it and started taking weekly classes at 17 years old. This turned into couple of times a week, assisting classes, and joining my first student dance team called ViP Dance, led by Vanessa Mambi. After 3 years I joined the professional salsa team RV Sintesis led by Ronald Pieters.
At 23 years old I moved to New York City as an exchange student. I lived here for 4 years to take classes, train, perform and teach with Yamuleé Dance Company, one of the best salsa teams in the world. Now back in Amsterdam I teach Salsa Ladystyling, Body Movement and Shines Styling all over the country.
Dance is my biggest passion, I invested so much time, energy and love into it, and I’m so excited to give it through to you! 😍

I have never danced (salsa) before, can I still join?
These classes are made for dancers that have salsa experience from a minimum of 1 or 2 years actively taking salsa classes. If you don’t have this experience you’re still welcome to come, but just know you will be super challenged 😉
If you have different dancing styles experience it’s possible you pick it up more quickly.
I would like to join the ladies showteam, how can I join?
Awesome that you wanna join! 😃 You can talk with Anne Elise about this, talk to her after/before class or send her a message, she will advice you if you’re ready now or maybe a couple more classes first.
Is this class for women and men?
Yes absolutely! I focus on styling and body movement that is for everyone. Here and there I will maybe throw a feminine arm in there, but the main focus will be to dance and sweat for everyone!
Is this class on heels?
No, you don’t have to! Sometimes we will wear heels, sometimes barefoot, it switches every week!
What is the level of this class?
My main goal of this class is to really challenge you! So the choreo will be quick, I want to train you to pick up things quickly. Nevertheless I will focus on technique and how to do and feel the moves, instead of just copy pasting.
So be ready to be challenged and to sweat! 🤩
What does On1 and On2 mean?
On1 and On2 are two different styles of salsa with each their own timing. On1 is also known as LA (Los Angeles) style, most people in the world when they start they start in this timing, so stepping on count 1 to the front. On2 timing was created in New York City, so also known as New York style, where we step on count 2 to the front.
This class is done in New York style. If you have never done this you really need to get used to it first.
