Elevate your salsa dancing to the next level
Anne Elise Showteam Audition
My motto is
Train like a pro, express like an artist, dance like yourself
It is finally here: Anne Elise is starting a salsa solo showteam 😍 Take your salsa to the next level with Anne Elise Wouters, international salsa dancer, performer and instructor. In this showteam you will bring your dancing to the next level, working on all different levels: from body movement, to styling, from Afro-Cuban influences to classical techniques, and from personal expression to stage pressence. Expect challenging combinations, creative drills, and above all, plenty of fun. Everyone is welcome – just be ready to push your limits and transform your dance.
Be part of something special
What to Expect
When you join Anne Elise’s Showteam, you’ll become part of a thriving group of women, all working together to take their dancing to the next level. The training is split into two parts: first a technique class to focus on body movement, styling, and overall dance technique, followed by the show rehearsal where we train Anne’s choreography to perform at parties and events in the Netherlands and abroad.
Classes take place every Wednesday evening. Consistency is key: by showing up every week, we grow together as a team and create the best outcome: elevating our dancing and putting on an amazing show on stage!
But it’s not just about the dancing. The showteam is also about building a supportive sisterhood. We laugh, connect, hang out outside of practice, support each other, and of course… go to parties together 💃✨
Are you excited yet? 😃 The official showteam name will stay a surprise for now… 🎁🤫😏
Supporting each other through dance
Feel the vibes
What makes this special
It’s more than just a choreo – it’s a whole (fun & sweaty) experience!
In the trainings we go beyond just learning steps. Every week we train different aspects of salsa dancing that will help you grow as a dancer and as a person. From body movement and styling to laughter and connection – here’s what you can expect:
Body Movement
I truly believe that dance starts from within and moves outward, not the other way around. Just like in life: happiness begins inside, and then shines to the outside 😊 That’s why in every training we focus on how we move our bodies in detail with every step. We explore influences from Afro-Cuban dance, jazz, and even a little ballet and modern dance.
Styling
Once we have a strong foundation, it’s time to spice it up! Styling is the finishing touch – and it’s so much fun! One step can have countless styling options, and in class we explore different vibes and flavors. I explain in detail what I do and how you can really feel the styling, instead of just copy-pasting.
Technique
Something super important to me: technique! Beautiful body movement and styling only work when we do them correctly. Good technique helps you conserve energy, prevents dragging your body around, and makes your dancing look sharp and clean. Plus, your communication on the dance floor will become crystal clear.
Personal expression
Dance is about more than steps: it’s about expressing yourself. It’s a way to let out emotions that have been stuck for too long, and a way to show your personality beyond the 9-to-5 routine. My classes are a safe space where you can explore all sides of yourself, try new things, and be as big, bold, and free as you want to be.
Work out
Yes, you will sweat! 🤩 I don’t go to the gym, because dance is my workout. It keeps me fit and healthy without even noticing I’m working out. The trainings will be challenging: we move a lot, pick up choreographies quickly, and push ourselves. So bring your water, a towel, and maybe a fresh shirt… and be ready to be challenged!
Gezelligheid and laughter!
Work hard, play hard: that’s how I live! The trainings are about working hard and being challenged, but also about gezelligheid and laughter. We grow together, we laugh together, and we celebrate every step of progress. No competition, no bad vibes, only love 😊❤️
Some people want it to happen,
Some wish it would happen,
MAKE IT HAPPEN

Hi, I’m Anne Elise 😍💃
As a little girl, I always danced in the livingroom for hours and hours to my mother’s viola music. But when my mom brought me to my first ballet class, I hated it 😅 As a teenager I finally really started dancing at my high school different styles, like streetdance, hiphop, modern, but also less standard styles like tap dancing, belly dancing, and then… salsa 💃
I fell in love with it and started taking weekly classes at 17 years old. This turned into couple of times a week, assisting classes, and joining my first student dance team called ViP Dance, led by Vanessa Mambi. After 3 years I joined the professional salsa team RV Sintesis led by Ronald Pieters.
At 23 years old I moved to New York City as an exchange student. I lived here for 4 years to take classes, train, perform and teach with Yamuleé Dance Company, one of the best salsa teams in the world. Now back in Amsterdam I teach Salsa Ladystyling, Body Movement and Shines Styling all over the country.
Dance is my biggest passion, I invested so much time, energy and love into it, and I’m so excited to give it through to you! 😍
It’s not about doing a choreo
It’s a transformative journey

Audition day
First of all… please don’t stress out 😋 The audition will feel like a regular dance class. We’ll start with some warm-up exercises, technique practice, and then learn a choreography where we add body movement and styling. At the end, we’ll dance the choreo in smaller groups, but no stress, it’s still in front of the mirror 😊 Just see this day as a fun dancing class!
This is not a stressful or competitive day: it’s a day full of love, gezelligheid, and dancing! And ofcourse: working hard, being challenged and sweating 😋 I’ll have two people with me who will watch from the side, simply as my extra set of eyes, since I’ll be mainly focused on teaching. Don’t worry, they’re not there to “judge” you.
After the audition, there will be time for questions, chatting, and connecting. A few days later, I’ll let you know by email if you’ve made it into the showteam.
The costs for the audition are 5 euros for me to cover the costs of the studio rent. You can only join the audition if you’re officialy signed up through the link of the green button on this website. After signing up you’ll get an e-mail with some more information.

Frequently asked questions

The trainings are at Aerial Studio in Utrecht:
Mississippidreef 2A
3565 CG
Utrecht
By car:
The studio is easy to reach by car and located close to the A27 and A28 highways. There is free parking available right in front of the building.
By public transport:
From Utrecht Centraal Station, take bus 3 (direction Zuilen) and get off at bus stop Franciscusdreef. From there it’s just a short 8-minute walk to the studio.
Is there free parking?
Yes! You can park the whole day and night for free 😃
What is the level of this showteam?
The level of this showteam will be intermediate–advanced. But don’t worry — that doesn’t mean you already have to be at that level right now. A common misunderstanding is that you need to be “pro” before joining a showteam. But actually, it’s the other way around: you join a showteam to grow, to train, and to reach that next level. It’s not about proving you’re already there, it’s about the journey of getting there.
What matters most is your mindset: the drive to grow, knowing where you want to go, and being open to learning. You don’t have to be perfect, otherwise, there’s nothing new to learn 🙂
We will definitely work hard and you’ll be challenged, but if you can embrace that instead of running from it, then this is the showteam for you! 😃
Is the showteam gonna be in On2 timing?
Yes, the main basic steps of the choreography will be in On2 timing. Even though I don’t like to put dance into strict boxes, this is a choreography, so of course there will be steps in different directions and timings. But the main timing of the choreo will be On2.
If you’ve never heard of this: On2 timing is slightly different from On1. In On1, you step forward on the “1.” In On2, as you can guess, you step forward on the “2.” This means every step shifts one count later, creating a different flow in the dance. This style was created in New York City, which is why it’s also called New York style salsa.
If you don’t have experience with On2 yet, I suggest first joining my weekly classes to learn the timing. Later on, once you feel comfortable, you can audition for the team.
What will be the name of the showteam?
Good question! And no, the name will definitely not be “Anne Elise’s Showteam” 😋 That would be way too boring! I’ve already chosen a name that I think perfectly captures the spirit, energy, and vibe of this group, but for now, I’m keeping it a surprise 🎁 I want the official name reveal to be something exciting we share once the team is formed.
All I can say is: it’s a beautiful and catchy name (I promise you’ll love it hihi), and I can’t wait to tell you once you’re in the team!
What are the costs of the audition?
The audition costs €5, which helps cover the studio rental and also ensures that everyone who signs up is genuinely planning to come, and not just clicking “Yes, I’m in!” and then not showing up 😋
When you click the green button on this website, you’ll be directed to a PayPal page where you can transfer the €5. Once that’s done, you’re officially signed up for the audition! 😍
Is it mandatory to wear heels?
Yes, our showteam performances will be danced in heels, so we also always train in heels. Why practice without them if the show will be in them? 😊 Training in heels helps you get used to the feeling, build strength, and develop the control you’ll need to shine on stage. If you want to wear a lower heel then that is totally fine.
Your new sisterhood awaits you
